EDWARD H. BRAGG JR Edward H. Bragg Jr. of Greenwich, CT, passed away on Octo
ber 21, 2013 at his home with his beloved wife and family by his side. He is survived by Margaret, his wife of 49 years, three sons, Philip, James, and Winston, his daughter-in-law, Jen and two grandchildren, Lily Elisabeth and Chase Edward. He was the only son of Edward and Hilda Bragg and was born in White Plains, NY on October 31, 1931. He was a graduate of Brunswick School, Princeton University, the Officer Candidate School at the United States Coast Guard Academy, and Harvard Business School. He served two years on the Coast Guard Search & Rescue duty in the Atlantic and one year as Commanding Officer of a LORAN station in the Pacific - French Frigate Shoals - on Tern Island, the smallest inhabited island in the world. He was a partner and managing director of Scudder, Stevens & Clark, the investment counsel firm, with 35 years in the role of managing individual and institutional portfolios. His clients were domestic, European, and Middle Eastern. He was widely respected and admired in the investment counseling field and served as a highly regarded mentor to many of his colleagues at Scudder. He was a leader at Camp Dudley in Westport, NY and frequent visitor and supporter of Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY. He was a member of Round Hill Club, the Union Club, John's Island Club and Mill Reef Club. Present and past outside activities have included Board Membership in the "Save the Field" (Sabine Farm) program, "Return the Light" (Great Captains Island), American Bible Society, Naval War College Foundation, Historical Society of Greenwich, Greenwich Land Trust, Bruce Museum, Brunswick School, the Independent College Fund of New York, Indian River Land Trust. Memorial gifts may be made to Christ Church Greenwich or to the Bragg Memorial Academic Fund at the Naval War College Fdn., Cushing Road, Newport, RI 02841-1213. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church, Greenwich, CT, on Saturday, November 9th at 11am.
