F. ELEANOR MITCHELL FREEMAN SOUTH YARMOUTH F. Eleanor (Mitchell) Freeman, 92, of Thirwood Place, passed away surrounded by love after a brief illness on Wednesday, October 3rd, at Cape Regency in Centerville. She was the wife of the late Stuart E. Freeman. Eleanor was born, January 7, 1920 to the late Alfred and Florence (Raynes) Mitchell in Roxbury, MA. She was raised and educated in Melrose, MA. She was a high school member of Kappa Delta Psi, an accomplished violinist of the Junior Symphony, and active member of Rainbow in which she held the highest office. Eleanor married Stuart E. Freeman on August 1, 1942 and resided in Westwood, MA and later Vero Beach, FL after Stuart retired. Their summer home was a special place they shared with their children and extended families on Lovell Lake in Sanbornville, NH. In 2010, Eleanor moved to Thirwood Place to be near family. Eleanor loved golf and once she could no longer play, she watched the golf station daily. She was a dedicated Red Sox fan, knew all the stats on every player, and always cheered them on. She was an active member of the Community Church of Vero Beach. Reading novels filled her free time as well as enjoying tea every day with friends. Along with her husband, Eleanor was also predeceased by her son, Alan M. Freeman. She leaves behind her devoted children, Stuart E. Freeman, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Bluffton, SC; and Area F. Princi and her husband Michael of Marstons Mills, MA; her beautiful and loving grandchildren, Brett Freeman of Los Angeles, CA; Heather Freeman of Southington, CT; Katie Moore of Amston, CT; Alicia Hirning of Windham, ME; Matthew McFarland of Portsmouth, NH; Andrea Lowery of Charlottesville, VA; Brooke Macfarlane of Westbrook, ME; Patrick Princi of W. Barnstable, MA; Peter Princi of Norwell, MA; and Brendan Princi of Hyannis, MA; as well as her much loved 16 great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 10th at 10am in the West Parish Congregational Church, Rte. 149, West Barnstable, MA 02668. A luncheon will follow at Thirwood Place, 237 No. Main St., South Yarmouth. Burial will be private.
