EUGENE W. HUTCHINSON Eugene W. Hutchinson, 87, of
Stuart, passed away July 11, 2014 at Palm City Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born in New York, the borough of Brooklyn, and had been a resident of Stuart for 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Seabees. He had enlisted in the Navy at 17 years old, and he had served in the Pacific, including Okinawa during WWII. He also served during the Korean War. Eugene retired from the New York City Fire Department after many years of service. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City and was an equity member of Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart, and he was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alexovits Hutchinson of Stuart; son, Robert Hutchinson and his wife Kathleen of Valley Stream, Long Island, NY; grandchildren, Sean, Meghan, Timothy and Mary Elizabeth; and great grandchildren, Anna and Michael. Visitation will be from 3:00PM - 5:00PM, Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00AM, Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City. A luncheon will follow the Mass. Eugene will be transferred to Keenen O'Brien Funeral Home in Bayonne, NJ for A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Bayonne, NJ, and interment in Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, NJ.
