G. ROBERT "BOB" MYERS, age 93, of Palm City, FL and Steubenville (Cadiz), OH passed away on Sunday, April 20th, 2014 peacefully in his sleep after a brief illness at Martin Memorial Medical Center, Stuart. He was born March 4th, 1921 in Zanesville, OH to the late George and Gertrude (Bell) Myers. Bob was a graduate of Ohio State University in 1949. He served his country gallantly as a member of the U.S. Marine Corp "Raider" Battalion (predecessor of all US Special Forces units) during WW II in Guam and the South Pacific. Bob achieved a distinguished business career in retail credit services as Sr. V. P. in JC Penney, Diners Club and Allied Dept. Stores. Bob was an avid golfer and was a member of Evergreen Club in Palm City, a member of The Masons, Shriners, Jesters Treasure Coast Billiken Club, in Stuart and many other organizations in Ohio. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Alicia Straka Myers, children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his previous wife Virena Baker Myers.
