James Woolsey Steele, 81, died Dec. 29, 2012, at his home. He was born in Scranton, Pa., and lived in Radnor, Pa. and Palm City. He graduated from Riverside Military Academy, University of Scranton and Penn State University with a Masters of Business and Administration. His long and varied professional career included being a Vice President of Human Resources for Certainteed/Saint-Gobain, owner of Resource Systems, a business consulting firm, and being a Professor at the Drexel University, School of Business. He was a member of the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, the Merion Cricket Club and Harbor Ridge Golf Club. He volunteered at the Curtis Institute of Music, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Philadelphia Flower Show, the Bryn Mawr Hospital and PBS. Survivors include his wife, Penny M. Steele; sons, Thomas and James; daughter, Sherrerd; stepson, Alexander; stepdaughter, Danielle; eight grandchildren; and four step grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas F. Steele Jr. and his first wife, Lucie B. Steele. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bryn Mawr Hospital, 130 South Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010.
