JEAN MOORE BEACH Jean (Moore) Beach, 70, formerly of Lincoln St., New Britain and Vero Beach, FL, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Indian River Medical Center. Jean was born May 25, 1942 in Cleveland, OH, and was the daughter of the late Bill and Edie Moore. She resided in New Britain most of her life and spent the past several years as a resident in Florida. Jean is survived by her husband Blair Beach, her aunt, Jean Bradley of Forestville, her four children and her 10 grand- children: daughter Kim Lohrey and husband David Lohrey and their children, Colby, Walker, Grayham and Reid; daughter Kate Bonney and husband Phil Bonney, and their children, Drew, Devin and Grace; son Rick Beach and wife Tiffany, and their children Sawyer and Cassidy; son Blair Beach and wife Kathy, and their daughter Mya. Jean spent her life making friends and creating a family that included not only her husband Blair and their four kids, but most of the neighborhood families as well. Her home on Lincoln Street was a second home to many, in most part because Jean opened her door and her heart to everyone she met. She loved entertaining and getting involved with her children's schools and the community. She was active in local politics and charities, hosting many fundraisers and working tirelessly for her causes. Jean was a long-standing member of the Junior League of Connecticut and continued her affiliation with the Junior League of Florida. She was also a member of Shuttle Meadow Country Club in New Britain and the Moorings Club in Vero Beach. She was a committed volunteer for
and the Petit Family Foundation. Jean and Blair were avid travellers during more than 50 years together. Family vacations were a priority and they traveled extensively together and with friends, taking cruises and visiting a variety of international locations. They also enjoyed playing bridge over the years and Jean continued to play weekly with her friends in Florida. Throughout these many years, Jean overcame the challenges of serious illness with fight, determination and humor. She inspired all of us who knew her. She touched our lives deeply and will be remembered for her constant smile, giving heart and the caring that she showed every minute of every day.
