KENNETH B. REYNOLDS
Kenneth B. "Ken" Reynolds, 88, passed away on June 9, 2014 in Stuart, Florida. Kenneth lived in Massachusetts until he entered military service in 1944. After serving in the war he married Mary Ann Martin and settled in Pittsburgh, PA. He lived there until 1959 when he moved his family to Highland, IN, he then moved to Pleasant Grove, AL, then to Camp Hill, PA, then moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 1980 where he stayed until he retired to Ft. Pierce, FL in 1992. Ken was a member of NCDU 42 (Naval Combat Demolition Unit) during the allied amphibious landing on Normandy's Omaha Beach. Ken received the following medals for his bravery: Presidential Unit Citation with bronze star, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign with two Bronze Stars, American Campaign, Honorable Service Discharge, World War II Victory, Navy Honorable Discharge and the "Chevalier"or Knight ranking by decree of the French President. He was a member of the Navy SEAL Museum and volunteered as a docent. He was a member of crest clubs of Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie, Sebastian, and Okeechobee. Woodworking was his passion and was one of the few people to make old fashioned wooden toys and he also enjoyed building doll houses. He was featured on the cover of the Special Edition of the Indian River Magazine in 2009. Survivors include his sons Richard Reynolds and Kenneth Brayton Reynolds, Jr.; sister, Ruth Reynolds Clark; six grandchildren, Erika Brosch, Lianne Miles, Kenneth Reynolds, III, Adam Reynolds, Kelly Rech, and Steven Reynolds; four great- grandchildren, Camille Brosch, Sophia Brosch, Carter Miles, and Brooke Miles. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann "Pug" Reynolds and son, David Bradley Reynolds.
