RICHARD "DICK" HAMILTON Richard "Dick" Hamilton of Port St. Lucie, Fl., died
April 13, 2014. He was born May 30th, 1924 in Westfield, MA. to Edward E. and Jennie B. Hamilton. In 1977, Dick married Anne C. Markham also of Westfield, moving to Port St. Lucie in 1991. Upon graduation from Westfield High School in 1942, Dick joined the Army and was stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco. In 1946 he returned to Westfield to work for Colonial Art Co. a business started by his father in 1898. Dick retired in 1991. From his days in high school through his military service Dick played the drums. In the 1940's he started his band - "Dick Hamilton and His Orchestra" a popular local group. He was also a recreational pilot. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Edward E. Hamilton as well as his first wife Ruth Fahey Hamilton (1972) Dick is survived by his wife Anne and his daughters - Jackie Woods and husband Ken of Glenwood Springs, CO. and Wendy Widmann and husband Roger of Ellijay, GA. His grandchildren Erin Widmann and Trevor Widmann reside in Melbourne Beach, FL. A Memorial gathering will be held May 18th from 2 to 4 pm at Yates Funeral Home, 7951 US 1 in Port St. Lucie.
