Obituary Condolences

Carl "Butch" Krause Sr., of Jim Thorpe, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, in St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Katherine "Lucy" (Wright) Krause. The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary June of 2012.
Born in Lehighton, July 23, 1939, he was a son to the late Alton and Josephine (Sauer) Krause.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He was a graduate of the Mast Baum Votech School in Philadelphia.
He then entered into the U.S. Navy and served as a weatherman.
After serving in the Navy he attended Penn State. He furthered his education attending Harvard University and received his Masters Degree in safety, health and environmental studies.
He was a member of the Mauch Chunk Rod and Gun Club Jim Thorpe.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Carl Jr., and his wife, Diane, in Philadelphia, William, and his wife Denise, in Holland, Bucks County, Michael and his wife Dianne in Blue Bell, Bucks County, Ed Borschell Jr., in Philadelphia, Eric Borschell, in Williamsburg, VA, in the U.S. Navy; a daughter Emily Tedesco, and her husband, Ray, in Philadelphia; a brother, David Krause, and his wife, Edith, in Delware; a sister, Gerrie Krause, in Philadelphia; 13 grandchildren, Theresa, Joseph Bach, William Krause Jr., Michael Jr., Jennifer Krause, Francine Marie, William, Matthew, Aj, Hannah Cuevas, Benjamin Thomas, Eddie Borschell III, and Alec Borschell; two great grandchildren, Abigail Stewart, and Michael III.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Robert; and a sister Barbara.
Services: will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 12 p.m. when family and friends can gather in the David J. Stianche Funeral Home, 123 Center St., Jim Thorpe, starting at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
