Joseph E. Faust Jr., 62, of Ringtown, died Monday, March 10, in his residence.
He was last employed by the Union Township Supervisors as road foreman and previously had worked as a foreman for the former Wenco Window company, Ringtown, where he worked for over 30 years. Born in Shenandoah, he was a son of Lois (Hinderliter) Faust of Ringtown and the late Joseph E. Faust Sr.
- He was the husband of Kay D. (Adams) Faust. They were married for 39 years.
He was a 1969 graduate of the North Schuylkill High School and a 1971 graduate of Penn State University.
Joe was an original and active member of the Ringtown Christmas Lighting Committee.
He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for over 50 years, starting from involvement in the Cub Scouts up to being a Scout Master, a position which he still held. Over the years, he was a recipient of many awards and recognitions in scouting. He was a member of the Ringtown Scout Committee, serving as former secretary and treasurer of the organization.
The deceased was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Ringtown.
Surviving in addition to his widow and mother are two daughters, Laura Faust-Teter of Ringtown and Elizabeth "Betsy" Faust of Allentown; a son Charles, and his wife, Christina, of Ringtown; two granddaughters, Ashley and Cassandra Teter, both of Ringtown; a sister Bonnie, wife of Daniel Myers of Lehighton; and aunts, uncles, a niece, a nephew and cousins.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, St. John Lutheran Church, 106 W. Main St., Ringtown, with the Revs. Jay Serafin and Craig Zimmerman officiating. Interment, St. John Cemetery, Ringtown. Call 5-9 p.m. Friday, Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 W. Main St., Ringtown, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
