Dr. Richard H. Schietrumpf|
Dr. Richard H. Schietrumpf, 64, of Hometown, died Sunday in Hometown.
A native of Mahanoy City, he had a dental practice in Hometown and was a former member of the Tamaqua Area School Board of Education.
Born in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late Henry R. and Beatrice May (Herring) Schietrumpf.
He was a former member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tamaqua, where he served as a youth group advisor.
A 1967 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School, he graduated from Penn State University in 1971 and from Temple University in 1975.
Surviving are a sister, Susan, wife of Jeffrey Ritz of Coplay; nieces Rachel Quirk of San Fransisco, CA, and Kayla Quirk of Coplay; and a nephew, Kristopher Quirk of Minersville, and his wife, Tami.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Brian Scott, who died in 1956.
Service: 11 a.m., Monday, Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, with the Rev. Fred Crawford officiating. Interment, Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call 9-11 a.m. Monday.
