Mrs. Sagemary A. Perkins, 86, of Lansford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Jan. 24, in the St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.
She worked most of her life as a sales clerk for various local retailers and was last employed by the former Ann Rodale Book Shop, Tamaqua.Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Gus and Gladys (Lewis) Alex.
- She was the wife of Dallas Perkins. They were married Jan. 17, 1952.
She was a 1944 graduate of Hazleton High School and also attended Penn State University's Hazleton Campus.
She was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, where she was a member of the Women's Group.
In addition to spending time with her family, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed flowers, gardening and reading.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son David, at home; three grandchildren, Michael, Ellen and Spencer; and a daughter-in-law, Beth Hudlow of Lehighton.
She was also preceded in death by a brother Ted.
Service: Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, with the Rev. Barbara B. Lucia officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Shawn E. Clark Funeral Home, 200 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, and 9-10 a.m. Saturday in the church. Contributions in her name may be made to the
