Steven K. Brooker
Steven K. Brooker, 57, of Lehighton, died Monday, March 3, as the result of a vehicular accident. He was the husband of Cheryl (Ritter) Brooker.
He was a truck driver for S.A. Knappenberger Trucking, Walnutport, for 15 years before retiring in 2004.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Vogel) Brooker.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.Brooker was a former girls' softball coach for both Palmerton and Lehigh Township, and a member of the Blue Mountain Fish and Game Association.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, auto restoration, gardening, cooking and making homemade pierogies. He loved dogs, especially his present canine companion.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Kelly A., wife of Johnny Yurkunas, and a son, Steven K. Jr., and his companion, Tracy Magarelli, all of Palmerton; two brothers, David, and his wife, Sandy, of Auburn, and Tim of Palmdale, Calif.; three sisters, Barbara Eckhart of Palmdale, Calif., Cindy, wife of Otto Winters of Mays Landing, N.J., and Becky Miller of Springs, Tenn.; his mother-in-law, JoAnne L. Ritter of Walnutport; three sisters-in-law, Susan K., wife of Keith Behler, and Connie Brown, wife of Michael Davis, both of Palmerton, and Gail L. Weber of Coplay; a brother-in-law, Neil L. Ritter, and his wife, Rosie of Palmerton; and five grandchildren, Joseph, Alivia, Matthew, Mason and Owen.
Service: Private funeral service at convenience of family. Interment, Indianland Cemetery, Walnutport. Call 7-8 p.m. Friday, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.
