She was a charter member of Saint Paul's Methodist Church, and retired from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement after a wonderful, satisfying career with this agency. She volunteered in the TMH Auxiliary and, over the years, enjoyed getting together with her high school friends each month for lunch. Ann was an Air-Force wife, and this took her to many locations in the United States, Japan, and Scotland. Ann and Byrne retired in 1971 to their home in Smith Creek, on the banks of the Ochlocknee River, knowing it was time to relax and enjoy settling down.
