Buster James Parris
Buster James Parris, 86, of Tallahassee, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2014 following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judy C. Parris.

The service will be held at 2:00 PM, EDT, Monday, July 28th at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 1689 Old St. Augustine Road in Tallahassee.
Interment will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 27th from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Bevis Funeral Home in Tallahassee. A Masonic service will be held following the visitation at the funeral home.
Mr. Parris was a native of Kingsport in East Tennessee and was a longtime resident of Tallahassee.
He was retired as a supervisor with Rose Printing Company and also retired following 17 years as a staff associate with Bevis Funeral Home in Tallahassee. While in Kingsport he was a member of and past President of the Kingsport Optimist Club. Mr. Parris was a longtime member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Tallahassee.
He was a member of Shrine, Blue Lodge and York Rite Bodies for 65 years, and served as Chaplain Emeritus of Marzuq Shrine, where he also was the longtime Hospital Chairman.
Mr. Parris was also a past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Leon Lodge #5, where he served as Noble Grand in 1990. He was also a member of Jackson Lodge #1, F&AM, BPOE #937 (Elks) and Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #1075.
Other survivors include three daughters, Suzanne Lyon (Michael) of Kingsport, Donna Mullins (Bruce) also of Kingsport and Gwen Summey of Dungonnon, VA; four grandchildren, James T. Lyon, Hunter Mullins, Cheyenne Hill and Justin Summey; and five great-grandchildren, Jackson Hill, Anna Paxton Hill, Chloe Mullins, Levi Jacobs Summey and Landon Jay Summey.
Gifts in Memory of Mr. Parris may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o Marzuq Shrine Center, 1805 North Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL 32303.
