Fletcher Pye
Deacon Fletcher Pye, fondly known to others as "Deac" or "Deacon Pye," 85, passed away Wednesday July 23, 2014.

Funeral service will be Saturday August 2, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Restoration Place, 3881 N. Monroe St. with burial at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. Wake service will be 6-8 PM, Friday, Aug. 1 at Strong & Jones Chapel.

Deacon Pye was educated in Leon County Schools and joined the United States Army in 1947 where he served as a Sergeant and fought in the Korean War.
After receiving the Purple Heart and an honorable discharge, he retired from the brick masonry business in 1990 and later became employed with Leon County Schools for a period of 10 years.
Cherishing his memories are his wife, Mother Essie Beatrice Reed Pye; six sons: Winfred Pye (deceased), James "Jimmy" Spicer of Tallahassee, FL; Larry Pye (Lola) of Miami, FL; Willie Pye (Shirley) of Jenkinsville, SC; Gregory Pye (Emma) of Jenkinsville, SC; Girona Pye (Barbara "Cookie") of Tallahassee, FL; and John Sutton of Jacksonville, FL; five daughters: Mary Louise Pye of Tallahassee, FL; Majorie Pye Thomas (Louis) of Hephzibah, GA; Frances Pye, Ziemethia Pye and Velranee Pye of Tallahassee, FL; and a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.
