Harry Fuqua



Harry Langford Fuqua, 76, of Marianna, Florida passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012. Harry was born in Jacksonville, FL and raised in Altha, FL on a dairy farm. He was a graduate of Altha High School, Chipola College and the University of Florida.
Harry was a former District Director and County Executive Director for Agriculture Stabalization & Conservation Services in Jackson County, a member of Marianna First United Methodist Church, the Marianna Elks Club, was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Mark Out Coffee Club since 1961.
He retired as a business owner in Marianna having owned Fuqua & Davis, Inc. since the 1970's. He was a fun loving family man with a passion for his model trains and memorabilia from his days as a gas station owner. Harry loved visiting his friends and could always be counted on for a good story and funny joke.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, John D and Lucille Fuqua.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Fuqua and sons Matthew Fuqua and wife, Pam and Jonathan Fuqua and wife, Julie all of Marianna, step-son, Brian Hannon and wife, Dr. Sharon Krieger of Mt. Kisko, NY and step-daughter, Denise Hannon of Tallahassee, FL, four grandchildren, Harrison Fuqua, Emily Fuqua, Ellory Fuqua and Cameron Robbins of Marianna, brothers; Don Fuqua and wife, Carla of St. Augustine, FL and Kenneth Fuqua and wife, Monica of Tallahassee, FL; special family members, James, Traci and Madison Robbins of Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. CST at the Marianna First United Methodist Church with Revs.
Bill Elwell and Connie Farnell officiating. Interment will follow in Chipola Cemetery in Altha, FL. Members of the Mark Out Coffee Club are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fuqua Family Scholarship, Chipola College, 3094 Indian Circle, Marianna, FL 32446.
