Margaret Nice Obituary
Margaret K. Nice

Margaret Nice, 86, passed to Heaven into the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ, on March 8, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Margaret was born on July 3, 1927 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to Vincent and Helen Kostelnik. She attended college at the University of Pittsburgh, earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and having the desire to make counseling her career path. She traveled as a student, both overseas and throughout the northeastern United States. While in France she fostered post WWII French orphans. Upon returning to the states she received her Masters degree in Sociology from Indiana University. It was there she met her future husband, Mark Nice. Mark and Margaret married in May of 1955 and began their family. They lived in many places, as Mark was in the US Air Force, including Tokyo, Japan. Eventually, they ended up in Florida where they set down their roots for the next 30+ years. Margaret worked as a Team Leader for the Archbold Hospital Grady County office and was later promoted to Clinical Coordinator at Archbold Hospital (CMHC) in Thomasville, Georgia where she was also a member of the crisis team. She also worked as a liaison with the Southwestern State Hospital Child and Adolescent Unit, Department of Family and Children Services, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and both county and city schools. She had the ability to help people through their life struggles and was called back to her position several times after retirement.

Because Margaret was a humble, kind, compassionate human being, she was well liked by all and has been known to be called "an angel" by her friends. She loved people, and once said that she would actually do her job for free, if she were asked. Margaret attended Killearn United Methodist Church in Tallahassee, Florida and taught adult Sunday School for 21 years.

Margaret will be missed for her excellent culinary aptitude, her ability to comfort in times of need, as well as her grand talent of intelligent debate on the issues of the day. She is survived by her three children with spouses; Nancy and Steven Campbell (Ft. Worth, TX), Mark and Patricia Nice (Newnan, GA), and Laura and George Preston (Salem, NH). She will also be missed by her grandchildren, whom she would do anything for, at any time; Andrew and Crystal Campbell (Colleyville, TX), Megan Nice (Minot, ND), George Preston and Rita Behm (Denver, CO), Tom and Elena Campbell (Austin, TX), John Preston (Hyde Park, NY), Katie Nice (Grand Forks, ND), Sarah Preston (Staten Island, NY), Jody Campbell (Ft. Worth, TX), Wesley Preston (Salem, NH), and Nicole Nice (Newnan, GA). She will be loved by her new great-grandchild, Clark Campbell, as her family will attend to this acquaintance.

Margaret was grace, beauty, love, and compassion all wrapped into one person. We thank God for allowing us the time on Earth that we had with this wonderful woman.

"But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high." Psalm 3:3
