Harry J. "Skip" Lizotte

Millbury - Harry J. "Skip" Lizotte, 67, died in his home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, June 21, 2014, after an illness.

He leaves three children: Tangy A. Ruth of Greeley, CO, Victoria P. Godbout of Auburn, and CPO Joseph H. "Hobo" Lizotte, USN, of Pensacola Naval Air Station, FL; eight grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; two sisters: Donna May Castonguay of Port Richey, FL and Rebecca L. Lizotte of Whitinsville; six brothers: Richard M. Lizotte, Alan C. Lizotte, Timothy M. Lizotte and Daniel J. Lizotte, all of Millbury, and John B. Lizotte and Mark S. Lizotte, both of Whitinsville; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry A. and Helen (Underwood) Lizotte, a sister, Cynthia E. Patenaude, and four brothers: David A. Lizotte, Thomas A. Lizotte, and Francis E. Lizotte, all of Millbury, and Michael G. Lizotte of Worcester.

Born in Worcester on March 27, 1947, Harry lived most of his life in Northbridge and Millbury and attended Millbury schools. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Ranger (CV-61), on Yankee Station in the Gulf of Tonkin and in the Western Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1968.

Harry worked as a carpenter foreman for 15 years for the Faford Construction Co., Ashland, retiring because of disability in 1996. Prior to that, he worked as a laborer for the Dubin Wool Stock Co., and as a foreman for the Aetna Waste Co., both in Worcester. He also worked part-time for the U. S. Postal Service at the Northbridge Post Office for several years. He was a member of Post 462, American Legion, Boston.

Harry's funeral service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 25, in Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Millbury. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, June 25, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., before the funeral service.

After cremation, burial will be private.
