John E. Carroll, Jr., 83
LAS VEGAS, NV - John E. Carroll Jr., 83, of Las Vegas, NV passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014. He was born on July 4, 1930 in Worcester, MA. John leaves his wife Karen Carroll of Las Vegas, daughter Loretta, son John and daughter-in-law Laura, all of Worcester, three grandchildren, Nathan, Michael and Chelsea, a great grandson Nathan, brothers Robert Carroll and Rodney Miller, sisters Elaine Ferrelli and Cheryl Pickering and several nieces and nephews.
John grew up in Millbury and lived many years in the Worcester area. After retirement he lived in Florida and then Las Vegas, NV for the past 15 years. John served in the U.S. Navy, ran a gas station, drove truck and retired from the USPS.
John enjoyed playing poker in several of the local's casinos in Las Vegas, traveling across country visiting the National Parks and watching the Boston Bruins.
A get together is planned for Tuesday, July 8th at the VFW Post 3329, 16 S Main St., Millbury, from 5 to 7PM. Family and friends welcome.
A funeral mass will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 9th at St John's Catholic Church, 44 Temple St., Worcester. Donations may be made in his name to St John's in care of Father Madden.
