FAIRCLOTH, Alan Scott Age 28 of Vanleer, TN, died May 14, 2013 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Assistant Fire Chief for the Vanleer Fire Department, EMT and Tech at Baptist Hospital. He formerly served his community with the Dickson Fire Department for five years, and also was currently a student at Columbia State working on his nursing degree. Born in Maryville, Tennessee and was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his wife, Alyssa Ruffino Faircloth of Vanleer; his mother and step father, Debbie Sykes Smith and James C. Smith of Slayden, TN; his father, Larry Faircloth of Greenback, TN; his brother, Eddie Faircloth of Knoxville, TN; his sisters, Rachel Smith of Slayden TN and Cheryl Faircloth Thornton of Knoxville, TN; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Kay Ruffino of Vanleer, TN; his brothers-in-law, Dominic Ruffino of Vanleer, TN and Philip Ruffino of Michigan; his grandparents-in-law, Shirley and Tom Dixon of Dickson, TN. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Imogene Sykes, Sarah Evelyn Faircloth; and his aunt, Patricia Gail Manners. His remains are in the care of the Taylor Funeral Home, Dickson, TN where visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 18th at 12 Noon from the First Baptist Church in Dickson, TN with Dr. Ted Denny officiating. Visitation will begin on Saturday, 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial rites and honors will be at the Dickson Union Cemetery following the funeral service with his final resting place being in the Parrott Cemetery in Slayden, TN.
