Argel Thomas Hale, Jr.
Ashland City, TN
Age 94, passed away April 21, 2014. Mr. Hale was born April 17, 1920 in Sentinel, OK. He was a member of Whites Creek Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by parents, Argel Thomas Hale, Sr. and Pearl Maynard Hale; first wife, Mable Jarman Hale, and second wife, Lois Wyatt Hale; brother, Gerald Hale;
Survived by his three children, Becky (Billy) Cox, Faye (Royce) Jackson and Argel Thomas (Deborah) Hale III; three stepchildren, Sandra (Howard) Sliker, Lunnie (Phil) McGroth, Douglas (Mary Sue) Wyatt; known as Papa Tom to his 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Remembered for the many stories he told and leading everyone in singing "There's a Hole in the Bottom of The Sea" at the closing of every family gathering. Mr. Hale served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII, he was employed at Werthan Bag Co. in 1936 and Ford Glass Plant in 1956, retired in 1982. Papa Tom will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Visitation with the family will be 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to Funeral Service 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, TN with Bro. Hubert Rains officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be Grandson & Great-Grandsons. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation for the caring staff at Maybelle Carter Retirement Center and Alive Hospice.
