RAY, Edward CarlynAge 93 of Goodlettsville, went home April 24, 2013. Edward was born February 22, 1920 to the late Houston and Ova Ray. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Katholeen Gill Ray. Survived by his wife of 26 years, Lorene May Ray; children, Vivian Buttrey, Lenora (Dan) Thompson, Kathy (Joe) Kimbrough, Norma (Greg) Seat, James (Anita) May and Juanita (Dan) Carpenter; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerald (Susie) Ray and Ted Ray; sister, Louise Mathews. Mr. Ray served his country during WW II in the United States Army under the direction of General Patton. He earned the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. After his discharge from the Army, Edward served at the Veterans Administration Hospital until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. A Celebration of his Life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 at Forest Lawn Chapel with Brother Ken Castleberry officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with James May, Steven Harrell, Drew Carpenter, Alan Horn, Greg Seat and Hank Ethridge serving as Pallbearers. Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and 2 hours prior to the service Friday at
