Dr. Laken G. "Red" WARNOCK

WARNOCK, Dr. Laken G. "Red" Age 84, passed away on February 8, 2013 at home. He died from complications with kidney disease. He was born April 19, 1928 in Newton Falls, OH to Guinn and Etta Warnock. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nelta Hyder Warnock. He is survived by a son, Tim (Maryglenn); a daughter, JoAnna (Jerry); and a granddaughter, Mary Nelta. Red graduated from Milligan College in 1957, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree, and received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Vanderbilt University in 1962. Red taught biochemistry at Oklahoma State University, taught biochemistry at Vanderbilt University Medical School, and worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was a member of the University Club of Nashville and Woodmont Christian Church, where he served as Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 92, and also served as an elder, a deacon and a member of the board. The family held a private Memorial Service and asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Milligan College, P.O. Box 750, Milligan College, TN 37682.
