PUGH, Marvin E.Age 87, Former Sergeant Marvin Edward Pugh, U.S.M.C., soared higher than eagles to replace the Marine Guard at the Pearly Gates of Heaven on September 2, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Pugh; sisters, Virginia and Dora; brothers, Jack and Warren. He is survived by his wife, Clara Pugh; sons, David Pugh and Charles Pugh; daughters, Sherrie Price, Robin Christiansan, Susan Green, Lisa Olshove; grandchildren, Jason, Terry, Bethany, Carrie and Christina and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and numerous other awards. Marvin loved God, country and family. A memorial service with full military honors will be held at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 85 Fairway Drive, Nashville, TN 37214, (615) 883-4595, on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. "Semper Fi" Fideli Certa Merces.
