AKIN, Peggy Ann "Nana" Age 75 of Hendersonville, went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2013. Peggy was a 1955 graduate of East High School. She was part of the East Eagle Hens, who went out every month and had dinner together years after graduation. She was also a woman of faith and was a devoted member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ for many years. Peggy enjoyed life to the fullest and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, whom will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Allan and Ruby Rutledge; husband, Alfred Ray Akin. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Mundy (Mark); grandsons, Blake and Austin Mundy; brother, George Rutledge; nephew, Andrew Rutledge; nieces, Ann Marie Wingo and Tracy Rutledge. The family would like to give a special thanks for all the care and support that Peggy received from her neighbors at Hickory Bay Towers. They would also like to extend a special thanks to all of Peggy's friends who cared for and loved her during her time of sickness. In lieu of flowers, as a survivor of breast cancer, the family would like to request donations be made in her name to the
Foundation. A Life Celebration Service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m., with Pastor Keith Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
