Robert "RV" Smith, Jr.

Nashville, TN

Age 73, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2014.

He served honorably as a Metro Nashville Police Officer for 42 years and retired as a Homicide Sergeant. He was a Master Mason and member of the Jere Baxter Lodge.

RV was a loving family man, a true patriarch valuing God and family above all. He was a loving husband, a gentle father, a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

Survived by his wife of 49 and ½ years, Linda (Woodard) Smith; children, Trey Smith (Traci), Tommy Smith (Jennifer) and Kim Parsons (George); grandchildren, Christopher Smith (Heather), Rachel Smith, Ethan Smith, Sebastian Smith, Elizabeth Parsons and Grant Parsons; great-grandchild, Aiden Jacoby.

And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace, James 3:18.

Visitation at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home Wednesday from 2-8 p.m., with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Interment at Spring Hill Cemetery. Family and friends to serve as Pallbearers.
