HENDERSON, William PatrickAge 88, passed away on November 12, 2012 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. He was a native of Beloit, KS and the son of the late William H. Henderson and Della Henderson. William spent his life in Topeka, KS working as a carpenter at the Veterans Hospital. He was known for his great Irish sense of humor, and having never met a stranger. William had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing with his brother Paul in Oklahoma. He proudly served in the Army as a medic during World War II receiving the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart in recognition for his service to his country. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Cliff, Billy, Paul, Raymond, Larry, and sister, Margie. Mr. Henderson is survived by his loving children, Susan (David) Battis and Ron (Julia) Henderson; grandchildren, Brandy (Jeff) Hopkins, Brett (Julie) Yocum, Tracy (Alex) Brink, Patrick Henderson, Rocco Henderson, Alexa (Derek) Rowlands, Alana Henderson, Ali Henderson; great-grandchildren, Gannon, Kiahna, Lyliana, Christiano, Derek, Zach, Jake and sisters, Janet Wisehart, Luann (Wayne) Hamel. He will also be missed by Billy and Betty Ott, Marianne Henderson, and Lawrence and Mary Ellen Tripp. The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care from the Arbors of Azalea Court and Alive Hospice.
