Cynthia LeBlanc Rogers

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at a 1:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Cynthia LeBlanc Rogers, 64, who passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2013 at her residence in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Reverend Bill Ruskoski, Pastor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Broussard, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Brenda Petro and McKenzie Spears. Giftbearers will be her grandchildren, Chase Bentley, Ashley Bentley, Cole Bentley, Alexis Bentley, Amber Bentley, McKenzie Spears and Sophia Spears. Musical selections will be "Wind Beneath My Wings," "What A Wonderful World," "Here I Am Lord," and "Taste and See." Ralph Guidroz will give the Eulogy.

Mrs. Rogers, was the daughter of Bernard Roy "Pompy" LeBlanc and Theresa Guidroz LeBlanc, and a lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was born on December 17, 1948, graduated from Mount Carmel Catholic School in 1966. In 1981, Mrs. Rogers received her Master's Certification and was Board Certified as a Forensic Document Examiner with the World Association of Document Examiners. In 1984, Mrs. Rogers completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Louisiana. In 1985, Mrs. Rogers received her Board Certification from the Carroll Institute of Polygraph.

Mrs. Rogers was court qualified as an expert witness in Forensic Document Examinations since 1984. Mrs. Rogers has testified numerous times in civil, criminal, federal, district and municipal courts including the parishes of Orleans, Lafayette, Avoyelles, LaSalle, East Baton Rouge, Calcasieu, Jefferson Davis, Terrebonne, etc. Mrs. Rogers provided her investigative services to clients throughout the United States as well as Europe.

As a respected leader of the investigative community, during her career, Mrs. Rogers had been an instructor for the Louisiana State Board of Private Investigator Examiners, a lecturer and counseled many individuals, companies and organizations over the years. She taught at the University of Louisiana, Louisiana State University, McNeese State University, Delgado Colleges in New Orleans and Slidell.

Cynthia was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed all manner of quilting and crafts to gift to her family and friends. She loved trying all new ideas, and never met a cookbook she didn't like. Her cooking will always be a cherished memory, especially around the Holidays. Cynthia was a great believer that everything in your home should be useful and beautiful. She lived life to the fullest, whether it was sewing, cooking or just giving all of her love to her family, especially her grandchildren. She had the biggest, warmest heart and it showed in her inviting smile every time anyone was around her.

She leaves, to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 25 years, Ray A. Rogers of Lafayette; her mother Theresa Guidroz LeBlanc of Carencro; her son Daniel J. Bentley and his wife Shelley of Lafayette; her daughter Sallie Bentley Spears and her husband Lee of Youngsville; seven grandchildren, Chase, Ashley, Cole, Alexis, Amber, McKenzie and Sophia; and one great grandchild, Landon.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Roy "Pompy" LeBlanc; her brothers, Keith Anthony LeBlanc and Bernard Roy LeBlanc, Jr. and her grandparents.

Pallbearers will be Daniel J. Bentley, Lee Spears, Chase Bentley, Cole Bentley, Jacob Morvant and James Rogers.

A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
