RAYNE - Funeral services were held at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, , May 17, 2013 at 10:00 am for Don Louis Leblanc, 92 who died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne, LA.

He was born on April 16, 1921 in Port Arthur, Texas to Alcide and Aimee Boudreaux LeBlanc natives of Acadia Parish. His mother died shortly after his birth and he was sent to live with his paternal uncle Euclide LeBlanc's family. Euclide's daughter Della and her husband Claude Doucet raised him and adopted him as their son.

Surviving are one daughter, Susie Helo and husband Henry "Hank"II of Rayne, LA; three grandchildren Elizabeth Blake and husband Ryan of Rayne, LA, Henry Helo and wife Summer of Crowley, LA, Amy Albers and husband James of Rayne, LA; five great grandchildren, Julia, James, Jonathon and Jonah Blake, and Jackson Albers; one brother, Richard Doucet and wife Helen; and his companion and much loved friend Gloria Pellerin and her family of Sunset.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Murley Hernandez LeBlanc; one son, Donnie LeBlanc, his parents,Alcide and Aimee Boudreaux LeBlanc; one brother, Estan LeBlanc; three sisters Lydia L. Miller, Dorothy D. Foreman and Murella D. Gilbert; and two half sisters Ella L. Skinner and Mary L. Boyer.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked in the oil industry prior to retiring . He was an avid gardener who loved bringing his friends and family fresh produce. He lived with his daughter and son-in-law following his wife's death.

The family would like to thank Barbara Holloway and especially Joella Lease his faithful caregiver, for making his life more comfortable and enjoyable.

Friends were received Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Friday, May 17, 2013 from 8:00 am until 10:00 am at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA.

Pallbearers were Henry Helo, III, Ryan Blake, James Albers, Saul Hernandez, Justin Doucet and Glen Pellerin. Honary pallbearers will be Joshua Foreman, Nicholas Hernandez, Richard Doucet, Jr.
