LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at a 1:00 PM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Earl J. Guidry, 69, who died on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at his residence in Judice.

Deacon Art Bakeler, Deacon of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, Louisiana will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Clarissa Benoit and Jennifer Guidry. Eulogist will be Corey and La Monica Guidry. Valerie Audrus, organist and soloist accompanied by "Dickie" LeBieche, will sing "Here I Am Lord", "Amazing Grace", "23rd Psalm", and "On Eagles' Wings" for the services.

Survivors include his two daughters, La Monica Guidry of Judice, and Dianna Guidry Guillory and her husband, Harlan "John" of Lafayette; one son, Corey Guidry and his wife, Jennifer of Carencro; the mother of his three children Lorraine S. Guidry; one sister, Earline Guidry of Scott; one brother, Nolan "Crip" Guidry and his wife, Sable of Judice; and four grandchildren, Damian Jinks, Douglas Daigle, Jude and Cade Guidry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Davis and Eula May Benoit Guidry; and his sister, Nita Boulet.

A native of Lafayette and resident of Judice, Louisiana for most of his life, Earl J. Guidry was known as one the "Bubbas". He enjoyed cooking for non-profit organizations, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family. He owned and operated his own business, Earl J. Guidry Inc., as a metal building contractor. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Earl J. Guidry was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him and will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank Earl's neighbors, T-Floyd and Debbie, Kenneth and Jen-Jo, and Erik.

Pallbearers will be Corey Guidry, Danny Guidry, Leonard Guidry, Dean McFarlain, Keith Guidry, Douglas Daigle, and Damian Jinks.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Grayson Benoit, Jude Guidry, Cade Guidry, Ralph Miller, and Gordon LeBlanc.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 PM by the Knights of Columbus, St. Basil Chapter in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Earl J. Guidry request that donations be made to the Department of Veteran Affairs.
