Flaman R. Palombo

LAFAYETTE - A Funeral Ceremony will be celebrated Monday, January 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Flaman R. Palombo, 67, who passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and resumes Monday, January 20, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.

A rosary will be lead by Father Gil Dutel, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home chapel.

Interment will follow services in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.

Minister Jason Corder of Forest Park Church of Christ in Crowley, will officiate.

Flaman was born Saturday, August 31, 1946 in Kaplan and was a lifetime resident of Acadiana. He served in the Marine Corps for 6 years during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Derrickman in the Oil industry for many years. Flaman was a member of Forest Park Church of Christ in Crowley.

Flaman loved fishing, canning and gardening. There wasn't a day that he would pass up a chance to have a good snack and watch television. Most of all, Flaman loved spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Palombo is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Lena Palombo of Crowley; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Phifer and her husband James of New Orleans; step-sons, Gene Jagneaux Jr. and his wife Tina of Morse, Dexter Jagneaux and his wife Jennifer; step-daughters, Gina Domingue and her husband Chris, Vickie Welch and her companion Travis Hodge all of Crowley; brothers, Herbert and his wife Jean and Kenneth and his wife Rose all of Lafayette; sister, Debbie Chaline of Sulphur; sister-in-law, Merella Palombo of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous friends, especially Marty W. Welch, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Palombo and the former Marie Eunice Abshire; daughter, Monica Palombo; brother, Patrick Palombo; and 2 grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Kilgore of Crowley and Dr. Kaufman and his team at Lafayette General Medical Center.
