LAFAYETTE - Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11 am in the Syrie Funeral Home Chapel in Lafayette, La for Mr. Ivory Washington King, 81, who passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 at his home in Broussard, La.

Brother Harold Alexander Jr. will officiate.

Mr. Ivory served this country in the Korean Conflict, worked for over 30 years as a chef offshore, and is well known as the booming voice you heard for 11 years at Wal-mart on West Pinkhook Rd.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Dorothy L. King of Broussard, La; his son, LaDrake King of Lafayette; his daughter, Melissa King Lopez of Lafayette; 4 grandchildren; one brother, James King and sister -in -law, Lula King of Murfreesboro, TN, and a host of dearly loved nieces, nephews , cousins, and friends.

The viewing will be from 7 am until time of service.
