Lawrence "Larry" J. Heidbrink

CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 8, 2014 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Lawrence "Larry" J. Heidbrink, age 65, who passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 3:03 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. Readers will be his goddaughter, Amy Durnin; his niece, Amber DiMaggio; and his friend, Melanie Barousse. Gift bearers will be his daughters-in-law, Stacey, Natasha and Lacie Heidbrink.

Mr. Heidbrink was born and raised in New Orleans and was a long time resident of Carencro. He was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, was a member of Knights of Columbus at St John Berchman Catholic Church, an active member of CAYSI, Carencro Civic Club, a past member of the Carencro Fire Department, and the past president of Lafayette Parish Parks and Recreation Commission. He was the owner and operator of Video Boutique and Added Touch in Carencro for twelve years. Mr. Heidbrink was a veteran of the military having served in the United States Air Force where he proudly served in the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife of thirty six years, Betty Heidbrink of Carencro; three sons, Joey Heidbrink and his wife, Lacie, of Lafayette, Tommy Heidbrink and his wife, Stacey, of Brusly, and Randy Heidbrink and his wife, Natasha, of Carencro; and six grandchildren, Madison Patin and Logan, Abigail, Connor, Owen and Cullen Heidbrink.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Fredrick Heidbrink and the former Stella Cowley; one brother, Theodore Heidbrink, Jr.; and one sister, Lorelei Schuman.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be his three sons, Joey Heidbrink, Tommy Heidbrink and Randy Heidbrink; his brother-in-law, Richard Schuman; and his nephews, Todd DiMaggio and Paul Durnin.
