CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Richard DePew, age 83, who passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Mr. DePew was a native of Minneapolis and a resident of Carencro. He was a veteran of the military having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from which he received a Purple Heart. Mr. DePew was a great father, grandfather, and friend to many and will be missed enormously.
Survivors include two sons, Rick DePew and his wife, Kathy, of Baton Rouge and David DePew and his wife, Karla, of Carencro; two daughters, Carol Phillips and her husband, Thommie and Lynn Mouton and her husband, Mark, all of Carencro; six granddaughters, Melanie Short and her husband, Cody, Erika DePew, Dana DePew, Lauren Mouton, Emily Mouton and Ava DePew; one grandson, Logan Willis; one great granddaughter, Erin Short; and two brothers, Jack DePew and his wife, Barbara, of San Diego, CA and Doug Depew and his wife, Eileen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton L. DePew and the former Anna May Stafford, both natives of Minneapolis.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. Friday until service time on Friday.
