Jeremiah Joseph O'Connell

Jeremiah Joseph O'Connell, 84, of Salinas, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014. He was born Jan. 28, 1930, in San Francisco.

He was a retired salesman for 52 years with Smurfit-Stone Container. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Church.

Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Louise O'Connell.

He is survived by his son, Michael O'Connell of Fresno; and grandsons, Jeremiah O'Connell, Michael O'Connell Jr., and Shaun O'Connell.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at St. Joseph's Church, 1 Railroad Ave., Spreckels, CA 93962.

Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St., Salinas, CA 93901.

Donations can be made to the Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, 45 Plaza Circle, Salinas, CA 93901.
