Jesse V. Brito

Jesse V. Brito, 83, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014. He was born Dec. 24, 1930, in Bastrop, TX and was raised in Acapulco, Mexico.

Jesse proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a maintenance mechanic for Sun Harvest's Cooling Division and was a member of the American Legion Post 31.

Jesse was a poet. His favorite pastime was writing and reciting his poetry, collecting coins and stamps, polishing his rock collection, and tending his garden. He loved watching his favorite sports team, the San Francisco 49ers, and he loved music, reading, and family gatherings. He enjoyed time with his compadres and friends who gathered at Winchell's Donuts every Saturday morning.

All of us, his family and friends, will miss his quick wit, his captivating smile, his infectious laugh, and the twinkle in his eyes.

Jesse is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Emily P. Brito, and their three children, Diana Brito (Sean Kelly), Iris Brito Stevens (Rich Stevens), and Victor Brito (Robyn Brito). He is also survived by their grandchildren, Alexa and Cole Brito Stevens; Jesse, Samantha, and Amanda Brito; and Allegra Kelly. Also surviving him is his brother, Abraham Brito, and sister, Patricia Brito, and his in-laws, Ramiro Perez and family, Rudy Perez and family, Joseph Perez, Lupe Long and family, and Jesse Flores and family.

Private services were held Friday, June 27, 2014.
