Jim Jack Morrison
Jim Jack Morrison, 84, of Salinas passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013. He was born January 12, 1929 in Marshall, Arkansas and lived in Salinas for over 75 years. He attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Salinas High School in 1946. Jim was a decorated athlete while attending Hartnell College.
Jim was of firefighter for 32 years with the Salinas Rural Fire Department and retired as fire chief in 1981. He served in the US Army and was a member of the Salinas Elks Lodge #614. Jim was an avid 49'er fan and movie buff. He also enjoyed playing golf as well as stamp and coin collecting.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Morrison and parents, Pete and Taft Morrison.
He is survived by his children, Lynda (James) Schlittler of Salinas, Jimmy (Beth) Gargiulo of Salinas, Ric Morrison of Seaside, Allan (Julie) Morrison of Carmel, John (Debbie) Gargiulo of Citrus Heights, Toni (John) Murphy of Clovis, Michael (Karen) Gargiulo of Elk Grove, Mary (Larry) Larronde of Salinas; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Family and Friends are invited to a visitation, Monday, November 18, 2013 from 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA 93901.
Private Family Entombment will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
