Thomas F. O'Connor III

Thomas F. O'Connor III, 96, of Moss Landing, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014. He was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Lynbrook, Long Island, NY.

He served in the Army Air Corp/Air Transport Command during World War II from 1943 to 1945.

During his career, Tom was a Special Ed teacher, child psychologist and Head of the Audio Visual Department for 21 years for Monterey County. He also operated his own business in his retirement.

Tom was a member of the VFW, Elks Lodge, and Commodore of the Elkhorn Yacht Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol.

Tom is survived by his sons, Thomas F. (Gayle) O'Connor of LaHonda and Charles A. (Kate O'Sullivan) O'Connor of Port Townsend, WA; grandchildren, Hillary (Sheryl) O'Connor of LaHonda, and Tom (Sandy) O'Connor of Fremont; and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Aidan.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
