Ulo Eramaa, 77, of Salinas, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013. He was born November 14, 1935, in Eisma, Estonia.
Ulo was a retired Command Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army for 26 years serving two tours during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otto Eramaa and mother, Marie Eramaa.
Ulo is survived by his wife, Tonita Eramaa of Salinas; daughters, Leslie Thomas of Sacramento, Christina Renteria of Salinas, and Regina Eramaa of Santa Cruz; son, Richard Eramaa of Salinas; sister, Lilia Danielson of Sweden; niece, Tiina Kilu of Sweden; and grandchildren, Nicholas Renteria, Christopher Renteria, Trenton Austin, Nathaniel Eramaa, Cash Austin and Ryder Austin.
Funeral service will be held today, April 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at the Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901.
Full military honors will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St., Salinas, CA 93901.
Private burial will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at San Joaquin National Cemetery, Gustine.
