James "Jimmy" Allen Pacheco, 60, native and lifelong resident of Salinas, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 12, 2012, at his home. He was born October 7, 1951.
Jimmy proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 31 of Salinas, the Elks Club of Salinas and of the Native Sons of Salinas. He volunteered for many years at the Salinas Rodeo. His interests included camping, barbequeing and attending car shows. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Pacheco of Salinas; his parents, Edward and Betty Rose Pacheco of Salinas; son, Tommy (Staci) Pierce of Salinas; daughters, Wendy (Patrick) Gage of Salinas and Candace (Bruce) Frazure of Hollister; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive, along with other loving relatives.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, 2012, from 1 to 9 p.m., at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA 93905.
A Celebration of Jimmy's life will take place Tuesday, January 17, 2012, from 1 to 5 p.m., at the Crown Royal Saloon located at the Salinas Rodeo Grounds, 1034 N. Main St., Salinas, CA 93906.
