Angel A. Guzman-Rosario, 90 of Vineland passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he moved to the United States in 1951.
Angel was employed by Farmers Co-op., from 1966 to 1985 and in his earlier years he worked for Progresso Foods. He served in the United States Army as a Sergeant during World War II and received 7 overseas service bars, WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and The American Theater Service Medal.
Angel was a loving and caring man. He loved the outdoors, nature and spending time with his beloved dogs. In his earlier years, he played baseball AA Class A in Puerto Rico and the Men's Softball League in Vineland. He was an avid Phillies fan and loved his 1969 Classic Mustang.
He is predeceased by 1 step-son, George Sammons, 2 brothers, Angel and Marino Guzman. He is survived by his 3 sons, Angel A. Guzman and his wife Nilbia of Newfield, George "Chick" Guzman and his wife Mercy of Vineland, and Miguel "Mike" A. Guzman and his wife Kathy of Millville; 4 grandkids, 5 great-grandkids and 2 step grandkids; 2 brothers, Ismael "Pancho" and Michael "Miguel" Guzman, both of Vineland; 2 sisters, Consuelo Cintron and Blanca Sanchez, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12 noon at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Angel will be laid to rest at the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Trench Road, Bridgeton, NJ. Friends will be received on Thursday morning from 10am to 12 noon at the funeral home.
