Austin C. Hemingway, 68, of Millville passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.
Born in Millville to the late Clarence and Barbara (Cheeseman) Hemingway, he was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Hemingway served in the U. S. Army as an SP4 with the combat engineers during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with an Overseas Service Bar.
For 18 years, Mr. Hemingway worked as a mechanic for Hi Concrete in Millville until it closed. He was truly a jack of all trades.
He was a member of the Millville Fire Department for 18 years, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Mr. Hemingway is survived by his sister, Joyce DeLancey of Millville; three nephews, Sherman DeLancey and wife Karen, Joseph DeLancey and wife Michelle, and Randy DeLancey and wife Misty; and his beloved dog, Abby.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.
