Jack H. Everland

Jack H. Everland, 75 of Bridgeton, NJ., died on Tuesday after an extended illness at the Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Court House, NJ. Born in Millville, Jack was a life-long area resident of Millville.
Jack was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, serving in the United States Navy from1959 until 1963, and then serving in the Naval Reserves from 1963 until 1965. Jack then worked for Vineland Transit Mix in Vineland as a truck driver for over 27 years. After retiring he invented the Funnel Chute, a tool for pouring concrete.
Jack loved talking on the CB radio and used the handle "Smiling Jack". He enjoyed playing cards, listening to country music, camping and crabbing. Jack was a car and tractor enthusiast, and enjoyed restoring both cars and tractors. He liked traveling to car shows and displaying classic vehicles that he restored. His favorite tractor was the Ford, with the International running a close 2nd. Jack also had a passion for the auctions and eventually operated the Leesburg auction in the late 70's. He also spent many weekends setting up tables at Flea Markets all around South Jersey and enjoyed talking to people that would stop by. He loved hockey and was a Flyers fan. He enjoyed his time teaching woodworking projects with his grandson Mike. Jack also enjoyed sailing and scuba diving. Jack always enjoyed his large family, and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He especially enjoyed the time spent with Brandon collecting knives.
He is survived by: Sister in Law, Elva Everland, Niece, SueAnn Everland Dolinsky Of Florida, Nephew, Bob Everland Jr. of Florida, Niece, Judy Ware of Millville, Nephews, William Everland and George Everland of Millville. Nephew Rob Everland of Washington, Niece, Ruth Vanaman of Florida, Niece Dawn Vanaman of Leesburg, Nephew Chuck Vanaman of Alabama, stepson, Robert Johnson; step daughters, Robin Holman (Jerry), Terry Burt (Dave), Debbie Johnson ( Sheila); Grandchildren, Brandon, Nicholas, Lauryn, David Jr., Brian, Robin Adams, Mike Brosh, Bill Klinck Jr., Jennifer Renee Klinck , Nikki Sue Klinck, and Jacki Lynn Gray-Baez; Great grandchildren, Chelsie, Ayrionna, Brandon, RJ, Matt, Brett, Drew, Abby Lynn, Ryan, and Kelli; and Jack's favorite dog, Pud. He was predeceased by his son, Jack Jr. and his mother Lucille Everland.
Services will be held on Monday at 11am, in the Rocap Shannon Memorial Funeral Home of Millville. Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 10am until 11am.
