John Jost Sr., 81, of Vineland died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at the South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center.
Born in Vineland, he was a lifelong area resident. He was a self-employed barber in Vineland for 50 years, Jost's Barber Shop. John was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Marines Corp. He was an usher at St. Francis of Assisi Church and enjoyed horseracing and sports, especially the Eagles and Phillies.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Thomas, Luke, George and Paul (twin); three sisters, Agnes, Genevieve and Clara. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Julia (Tanger) Jost of Vineland; two sons, John Jost Jr. of Hoboken and Jeff Jost of Vineland; one daughter, Jill Jost of Vineland; one sister, Mary McFarland of Vineland; one brother, Walter Jost of Newfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private. Friends will be received on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
