AGE: 25 • Vineland

Shane A. Candeias, 25, of Vineland, NJ passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014, in Philadelphia, PA. Shane was born in Reading, PA and raised in Vineland where he remained a lifelong city resident. He was the son of Colleen McCann and the late John Candeias. Shane attended Notre Dame and Sacred Heart Grammar Schools, and was a 2007 graduate of Vineland High School. After graduation he attended Cumberland County College and then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a SPC, Fire Support during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He received the Army commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal w/Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon & Overseas Ribbon. Shane served in both Kuwait and Iraq. Shane enjoyed playing ice hockey, cheering on the Philadelphia Flyers, riding his skateboard and spending time with family and his many friends. Shane is survived by his two sisters Katrina and Alicia, nephew Gavin Hughes, Gordon Brown fiancé of Colleen McCann and maternal grandparents Janice and Mal McCann all of Vineland. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by paternal grandparents Carolina and Manuel Candeias. Relatives & friends will be received on Saturday June 14, 2014 from 9:00-10:30 AM at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish-Church of St. Isidore's, 1655 Magnolia Rd., Vineland, NJ where his funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Entombment will be private in the Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery.
