Groton - Attorney Frank J. McIntosh, 92, of Groton, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014.

He was born with his twin brother, Michael, in February of 1922. They were raised in Kearney, N.J. Frank and Michael both attended Rutgers University where they received their bachelor's degrees. Frank entered the Navy in 1943 with Michael as well. They both served as communications officers during World War II. Frank was a graduate of New York University Law School. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1950 and then to the Connecticut Bar in 1952.

Attorney McIntosh had a successful law practice in Groton for 50 years. He was the founder of the Groton Kiwanis Club and its first president. He served on many town boards and commissions, notably the first Groton Town Council and the Democratic Town Committee. Frank was also past president of the Groton Chamber of Commerce in 1964-65.

He is survived by his two daughters, Edmee McIntosh of Mystic and Frankie McIntosh of Delta, Colo.; granddaughter, Amanda Brand of Edna, Texas; grandson, Zachary Taylor of Delta, Colo.; and a great-grandson, Layton Brand of Edna, Texas.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lynn (Cary) McIntosh; and his two brothers, Michael and James McIntosh Jr.

A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic.
