New London - Garry Collins also known as "Hooky", 58, of 33 Brainard St., New London, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 26, 2012, in his loving home.

Born in New London, he was the son of Teretha Collins and the late Jasper Collins. Hooky was a graduate of New London High School class of 1971. He worked for over 20 years in the custodial department at the New London Mall and also served in the U.S. Marines Corp. as a machine operator during the Vietnam War.
Garry Collins is survived by his wife, Henrietta "Pinky" Collins; two sons, Garry and Aaron Collins (Tanya) of Waterford; Austin, Kevin, Sharene, Curtis, Vanessa, Travon, Jazmin and Drew, his family all of New London; sisters, Isadoria Anthony of New London and Betty Collins of Texas; a brother, Xavier Wiggins of North Carolina; nine grandchildren who he cherished; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Besides his father, Garry is predeceased by a son, Harvey Moore; a sister, Christine Collins; and brother's, Tony "Tough Tone" and Larry Collins.
Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 60 Blackhall St., New London. The funeral service will follow.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Lester Gee Funeral Home, 108 Blinman St., New London.
