Raymond Couture Obituary
Montville - Raymond Couture, 57, of Uncasville, son of the beloved, late Isidore and Margaret Couture, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a long illness.

Ray was a very loving father, and a very gentle spirit, had a great sense of humor and a generous soul. All who knew him will remember him as being a very caring, giving and loving man. He has been a Harley enthusiast all of his life, and riding his Harley with no particular destination was his favorite pastime. Cooking was also his passion, but attending any and all major motorcycle events all over the country was his primary interest which included a solo ride out to Sturgis in 2009. He was a pool shark and also an avid fisherman.

Ray worked at Electric Boat for 15 years as a pipefitter and later worked at Mohegan Sun as an executive chef.

Ray is survived by two sons, Raymond II and Ryan Couture, both of Norwich; he is also survived by his sisters, Marjorie Dignoti of Cromwell, Lauretta Mariani of Waterford and Joyce Dereski of Norwich. He also left behind his most faithful, loyal and loved companion, "Pechune", his pet dog that he rescued.

Ray was predeceased by a brother, Robert Couture of Uncasville.

A memorial mass will held at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at St. Johns Church, 22 Maple Ave., Uncasville, followed by a celebration of his life at the VFW, 91 Raymond Hill Road, Uncasville.
