Montville - Richard R. Cote, 66, of Uncasville, beloved husband of Doreen (Dixon) Cote, passed away Sunday evening, Nov. 17, 2013, at Danbury Hospital.

He was born Sept. 23, 1947, in Plainfield, a son of Jeannette (Dufresne) Cote of North Smithfield, R.I., and the late Rudolph Cote. Richard had resided in Plainfield for most of his life.

Mr. Cote was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed as a machinist at Electric Boat for 37 years, retiring in 2012. Mr. Cote was a member of William L. Mercier Post 5446 VFW in Plainfield.

Besides his wife and mother, he leaves a daughter, Linda Jancewicz of Preston; a sister, Janis Pollock of North Smithfield, R.I.; two grandchildren, Julie Jancewicz and Lindsey Jancewicz; two nephews, Charles Carlen and Shawn Cote; an aunt; and several cousins.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Road, Plainfield. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
